BOARD OF STUDIES
The Board of Studies (BoS) is a crucial academic body in higher education institutions, responsible for the curriculum, teaching, and quality assurance of programs. As per UGC regulations, each department typically has its own BoS, which plays a key role in maintaining academic standards and ensuring the effectiveness of the teaching-learning process.
Key Functions of the Board of Studies:
• Curriculum Development: The BoS is responsible for framing syllabi, recommending new courses, and reviewing and updating existing ones.
• Teaching and Assessment: It determines the methods of teaching, assessment procedures (including continuous evaluation), and recommends panels of examiners.
• Quality Assurance: The BoS ensures the quality of academic programs by monitoring their effectiveness and recommending improvements.
• Advisory Role: The BoS advises the department and the university on academic matters related to the specific discipline
