Anti-Ragging Cell

ANTI RAGGING COMMITTEE

The Anti-Ragging Committee, mandated by UGC regulations, is a crucial body in higher educational institutions aimed at preventing and addressing ragging. It is responsible for monitoring anti-ragging activities, investigating complaints, and recommending appropriate actions against those found guilty of ragging.

Key actions taken by the committee:

Punishments: Depending on the nature of the ragging incident, the committee can recommend punishments ranging from suspension from classes to withholding scholarships, debarring from exams, and even expulsion.

FIRs: If the incident involves criminal activity, the committee may advise the head of the institution to file a First Information Report (FIR) with the police.

Awareness Programs: Organizing workshops, seminars, and other events to educate students about the dangers and consequences of ragging.

Grievance Redressal: Providing a platform for students to report ragging incidents and seek help.

Monitoring: Regularly monitoring student activities and behavior, especially in sensitive areas like hostels, canteens, and classrooms.
